To transform the culture of care throughout the continuum of life with compassion and wisdom through education, Zen practice, and care.
Founded in 2007 by Koshin Paley Ellison Sensei and Robert Chodo Campbell Sensei, the New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care (NYZC) offers guidance for people interested in beginning meditation or continuing in their existing practice; we train people from all walks of life in compassionate care-partnership;ย and much more.
Contemplative care is defined as a multi-faith, relationship-centered approach to care that draws on the contemplative practice of the caregiver as the primary source of wisdom and loving action. We provide rigorous training which engenders radical compassion in both the caregiver and the patient (care partners), and acts as the healing agent of suffering.ย
